I will soon begin the writing process of my new book Keto+: What Mainstream Media and Diet Culture Missed (don’t worry I’m not married to this title or this cover either).
The purpose of this book is to highlight the issue with our current views and uses of the ketogenic diet and tell the narrative of how mainstream media and diet culture has gotten us to this point. The book will also present how the keto diet should actually be viewed and used with instructions on how to do so.
My intent for this book is to reverse the negative trending narrative of keto and help more people understand how this diet should actually be implemented to improve health and reverse chronic disease.
If you follow my content you know I like to do things a little less traditionally so I am going to be serializing this book.
Serializing means publishing a large piece of content like a book, play, or movie in regular installments. Meaning that as I write this book I will be publishing it to you for early access. This is an idea I had gotten from other authors I admire like Ryan Holiday, Tim Ferriss, and smaller writers right here on Substack.
A big difference between most book serialization and this newsletter is that I am not going to be releasing finished sections or chapters of the book to you. Instead, I am going to be releasing my work as I write it so that you can read it, provide feedback, and actually shape the direction of the book.
In addition to the feedback, I will also be initiating group discussions with members of this newsletter to help gather data, content, and ideas to also aid in the direction of the book. This book is going to be a group effort and your help will be greatly appreciated.
The end result of this project will be a self-published book that will be pushed out to the masses to try to correct the course on the ketogenic diet and solidify its place in the world of nutrition. I am going the self-published route because a.) I want to control what does and doesn’t go in the book instead of leaving it up to someone who is less of an expert on the topic. and b.) no publishing companies are interested in me because my social following is too small even though Keto Answers has sold over 22,000 copies so far!
Since I am self-publishing this book, the help you are providing isn’t just on the content side. It’s also on the financial side. Your newsletter subscription contributions ($5/month) will go towards the development of the book including editing, graphic design, cover design, and the marketing of the book including ad content creation and marketing spend. This book would not be able to reach the masses if not for your support!
I look forward to you joining the team to help bring this project to life. It is going to be an entirely new process for me but I am excited to tackle it and have you join me along the way!

P.S. only the paid subscription will provide access to the book content, the free subscription will just provide occasional book updates.
